Options for Display: Polehem or Polehem with Fringe

Tailor your indoor flag display with these distinctive choices:

Pole Hem: This option provides a clean, streamlined appearance, with a durable pole sleeve for easy hanging on any standard flagpole.

Pole Hem with Fringe: For a classic and timeless aesthetic, opt for the Pole hem with Fringe. The carefully crafted fringe along the bottom edge adds a traditional and sophisticated touch to the flag's presentation.

History of the American Flag

Known as the Stars and Stripes, Old Glory, and the Star-Spangled Banner, the American Flag features 50 stars symbolizing the states of the USA and 13 stripes representing the original colonies. The blue field stands for vigilance, perseverance, and justice, while the red signifies valor and the white symbolizes purity and innocence. The nickname "Old Glory" was originally given to a specific flag by sea captain William Driver in 1831.

On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Flag Resolution, specifying the design of the flag. The first battle use was at Fort Schuyler in 1777, where soldiers created a flag from their clothing. Various claims exist about the flag's original designer, including Betsy Ross, Rebecca Young, and Francis Hopkinson, who was the only one to claim the design during his lifetime.

The current design, with 50 stars, was created by high school student Bob Heft in 1958 and officially adopted in 1960 after Alaska and Hawaii became states.
